Ferndale is an inner-ring suburb of Detroit. Located in Oakland County along Woodward Avenue from 8 Mile Rd up to 10 Mile Rd. Ferndale's downtown is anchored at the intersection of 9 Mile Rd and Woodward Ave (exactly 9 miles from Downtown Detroit). It is a growing hub of trendy eateries, gift shops, artistry and the cause of social justice and inclusion. In addition to sharing a common boundary with Detroit-proper the city of Ferndale also borders Hazel Park, Royal Oak, Royal Oak Township and Pleasant Ridge.
