Revenge of the Mummy The Ride roller coaster [8K 360° VR] Universal Studios Florida

Located at Universal Studios Florida, experience "Revenge of the Mummy The Ride" roller coaster in immersive 8K 360 to use with a VR headset, smartTV, or smartphone/tablet. Audio has been captured with true spatial 360° audio (ambix) so be sure to wear headphones. Ambisonics is a full-sphere surround sound format that will allow you to experience sound in all directions.

Revenge of the Mummy opened on May 21, 2004. The roller coaster lasts nearly three minutes and features a top speed of 45 mph (72 km/h). The track is 2,200-foot (670 m) long featuring no inversions, 80-degree banked turns, and a 50-degree angle of descent. The six-story, 62,000 square feet (5,800 m2) building housing the roller coaster was previously home to one of Universal's landmark attractions, Kongfrontation. Homages to the Kong attraction can be found in several areas within Revenge of the Mummy, including a golden statue of King Kong in the second scene of the ride. The slabs used to construct the building were the largest of its kind ever used. Track pieces from Kongfrontation were built into the building during construction and parts of the track still remain within the building. In order to compensate for space, part of the building was excavated several feet deep for the ride's climactic drop.

Recorded with the GoPro Max (protune on: ISO Min100/Max1600, EV -2) at 30fps captured at 6K with 360 audio (ambix) and edited together in ProRes format/ upscaled to 8K 2D 360 using Adobe Premiere.

Regarding true resolution of an 8K 360° video:
Unlike standard videos, in a 360° video you can view only a part of original image (approximately 30-90 degrees out of 360). As result, the real resolution of the part you can see isn't bigger than 1.3K--2K (or slightly better than 1080p HD). As of 2020, 8K 360 is the max resolution YouTube can play. Hopefully someday YouTube will support 16K 360 video allowing for true 4K VR resolution and affordable cameras will exist to capture that :).
