✈ American Airlines - THE PILOT'S PERSPECTIVE - Flying Into Dominica 🇩🇲

The Runway 09 approach is both a unique and quite challenging approach. Both Visitors and Crew on arrival are greeted with lush green rainforest, the tall Morne Diablotin, and the coastline of the Northeast. Truly a gem and one-of-a-kind. (But...) that doesn't come without a challenge. Due to Dominica's natural landscape and topography, the island is "littered" with rising terrain, hills, and mountains. These, coupled with rapidly changing weather patterns can often make the approach improbable, and sometimes impossible. Here, we see a unique perspective of what the American Eagle (Envoy Air) pilots see when they fly into Dominica.
