Today I'm watching the Director's Cut of Dark City (1998) for the very first time and it was an EXPERIENCE. This movie is creepy, atmospheric, and full of mystery — but in the best ways. On the surface a gritty neo-noir, but with a lot of interesting themes about identity and the roles we play in society.
This was such a unique experience and I totally get why people have been recommending it. Definitely a hidden gem of ‘90s sci-fi.
