Meet Case’s newest and most powerful electric mini excavator, the 2.5-ton CX25EV.

The all-electric, 32.3 kWh machine offers power equal to a comparable size diesel machine, without the noise or emissions.

In the video above, Case product manager George MacIntyre, gives us a tour of the CX25EV at Public Works Expo 2025. It joins the 580EV backhoe, CX15EV mini excavator, CL36EV compact wheel loader and the SL22EV small articulated loader in Case’s growing lineup of electric machines.

The CX25EV includes hydraulic flow settings and up to three auxiliary circuits that can be paired with a quick coupler and a variety of attachments for versatility on jobsites with emissions or noise requirements.

The electric toolcarrier offers compatibility with Case’s full range of D Series diesel mini excavator attachments, including buckets, breakers, grapples and thumbs. Operators can adjust the fully customizable electrohydraulic controls for speed and smoothness based on their preferences.

The short radius design and variable width track makes it ideal for work in confined spaces.

It gets a battery runtime of 4 to 8 hours, depending on how it’s used. When it’s time to recharge, operators can plug its on-board charger into a 240V outlet, or into the fast charger to cut charging time in half.

Easy-to-access service points make the mini excavator simple to maintain. Case offers a 2-year/2,000-hour base warranty and 3-year/3,000-hour warranty on the electrical system, including the electric motor and battery.
