From the flats to the mountains: Guelmim to Tafraout

Hello again. We have left Guelmim with an intention to find the hot spring in Fask which we could not find as there is a dirt road for 7km. As our car is still not fixed (gear change mechanism is falling apart, subframe is rattling like crazy) so we did not risk to drive this road and turned round after 1km into the road - no hot spring for us. I guess it's kinda good as there was around 50 C in the air and the hot spring would have felt like boiling water coming from the ground.
So we went further towards the Anti Atlas mountains with an intention to get to Tafraout. There was a lot of small villages to see in between and the Anti Atlas itself. Amazing scenery in amazing heat. Now we know why this area is not suggested in Summer. It was so hot that we could not enjoy the road. Our car at one point did not want to go uphill even in 1st gear because of the heat I guess (having read online that Diesel engines struggle for power in high heat). After a lot of km and loads of small villages we did make it to Tafraout. One thing that did stand out immediately in this region - people respect their land. Everything is tidy, no rubbish around, rubbish bins are clearly positioned. All the people are so cheerful and seem happy considering they do not have much. This goes along with our thinking that the less you have the less you need and in return the happier you are.
People here do take care about themselves, own agriculture, farm animals, own bread.
Tafraout area is very nice, the mountains turn to round, reddish looking, smooth rocks. Amazing for climbing and walking. This area goes into one of our favourites in Morocco after Sidi Kaouki and Essaouira. Yet again we were privileged to enjoy all this just for ourselves as there were no tourists at all.
We stayed a few days by the Painted Rocks which is outside of Tafrout (5min drive) and as been advised by the locals - this area normally is for visiting only and no camping. We also have been invited to a nice Carpet Shop - Maison du Trock where we finally did buy some carpets and blankets. Amazing shop owned by amazing shopkeeper, no pressure, calm and professional businessman :)
Due to high heat we decided to stop our plan going East towards Chefchouen and we turned back to the ocean side to go to Chefchaouen via Essaouira where we stayed a few days and met our friend Oldrich.
PS: to grow carrots you need seeds and earth!
