The drivers footwell has suffered from wet carpets for a considerable time. A quick google search* suggested that the panel the brake servo is bolted to, is separate from the bulkhead and the mastic sealant around its edge had failed. Taking the drivers seat out is advisable as room under the steering column is tight and you'll be able to get better access to drying the carpets.
Tools Required:
8, 10 & 13mm sockets/spanners
socket extensions
Pliers
Degreaser & drying cloths
Sealant gun (if you're going to use sealant, you could replace the mastic with new mastic)
Torch/worklamp
