This is an irreverent and hilarious, yet deeply insightful, “video essay style” review/analysis on the newest film in the MCU line-up, Fantastic Four: First Steps from the perspective of a fan of both the MCU and The Fantastic Four.

The first half is spoiler-free, while the ending goes into full-spoiler territory. In this video, I take an in-depth, critical look at how this movie fixes the MCU’s torrent of slop-style content, as well as compare the success of this movie to the failures of the previous Fantastic Four films (Fantastic Four 2005 and it’s sequel Rise of the Silver Surfer, as well as Fantastic Four 2014).

It’s taken several years, but Marvel has finally released another good movie. Even more shocking, it’s the first quality Fantastic Four film and the only one that actually gets the characters (Sue Richards aka The Invisible Woman; Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch; Ben Grimm aka The Thing; and Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic), casting, and superpowers correct.

Now, you get to watch your favorite characters from Marvel Rivals in a whole movie…haha!

Fantastic Four - First Steps is raising excitement levels for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, where the Fantastic Four will return and Robert Downey Jr. will take up the mantle of the notorious villain.
