From the album Moonlight Over St. Denis (1967).
Recorded in Montréal with the Paul Boudreau Orchestra, this playful single captures Raymond Duval’s signature mix of French charm and North American swing.
“JazzDe Poko Chin” began as an improvised scat phrase Duval used during rehearsals — it stuck, became a running joke among the band, and eventually turned into the title of this infectious groove.
Built around brushed drums, upright bass, and a smoky tenor sax solo, the track blends café-style cool with finger-snapping rhythm.
A lighthearted classic from the golden age of Canadian jazz, newly remastered from the original tapes.
