SMRT Bus Service 700A Farewell Tribute

24 August 2020. Alongside with SMRT Service 700, SMRT Service 700A is an alternative variant which serves from Bukit Panjang and looping at Suntec City & Esplanade. Service 700A operated for 20 years 8 months to serve Bukit Panjang residents to Orchard & Suntec City mainly during the operations.

Service 700A demand fell more than 50% since Downtown Line Stage 2 opened on 27 December 2015, and it's already unprofitable to sustain after several years. Therefore, Service 700A also needed to withdraw too. Anyway, it's been good that we have been growing up with Service 700A for two decades!

Unfortunately with a lost connection to Suntec City, only way is to take Downtown Line from Bukit Panjang. Hopefully Service 972/972M can have a chance to extend looping at Suntec City in a future! We will miss you, Service 700A~~~~~
