Refugee existed between 1972 and 1973, and during that period other members that came and went included vocalist Rick Weeks and drummers Chris Jenkins And Tony Groeger. They were a busy gigging band on the London circuit and also played support to many touring bands in the South East
Following on, Paul Samson joined Kelly with Tom Kelly (Drums), Paul Zavva (Bass), Terry Jenkins (Guitar) and Rick Weeks (Vocals) whilst the remaining members recruited Bernie Brooks and became Supervole. Gerry Sherwin later joined Paul in Kelly and went on to Maya (with Clive Burr and Chris Aylmer), Blitz (with Graham Foster), Hotline (with future Samson members Dave "Bucket" Colwell and Pete Jupp), English Rogues, Sledgehammer and Troubleshooter.
Paul stayed through several line-ups of Kelly which included in addition to the above Richard Amey, Terry Jenkins (later with Pilot), Steve Bennett, and Roger Hunt (R.I.P.) before replacing Bernie Tormé in Scrapyard which evolved into McCoy, then Samson.
