Although it's not a Purple Friday, we would like to wish the happiest and healthiest 80th Birthday to the original Deep Purple bassist Nick Simper.
In his honour we share this short-lived band formed by Simper. During 1975 from the scraps of his first solo band (after leaving DP) Warhorse, Nick Simper decided to try again with a new outfit called "Nick Simper's Dynamite" which included his old pal John Carroll (Johnny Kidd & The Pirates) on keyboards, vocalist James Royal & drummer Mick Richardson. Unfortunately this band only lasted for a short time releasing only one single which included new version of Warhorse's "St.Louis" and "Soul Rider".
Band:
Nick Simper: Bass
Pete Parks: Guitar
James Royal: Vocals
John Carroll: Keyboards
Mick Richardson: Drums
