MD Street Racing 2000 - Rockstar Games "Midnight Club" Footage

Found VHS tapes...Let's take a trip down memory lane, before Mischief. The year was 2000 and I was working with a media company called Autobuzz. Autobuzz was an online media company that helped Rockstar Games finalize their “Midnight Club” Playstation 2 video game. One of RG producers wanted to experience real street racing so I invited him down to the DC area to check out our street racing scene. The producer also brought two guys from Stuff magazine to write a story about the whole experience.

The beginning of this video is staged footage we shot at a Park & Ride near College Park, MD. This was shot by us before the producer from Rockstar Games came down from NYC. This footage wasn’t usable for the game promo.

The rest of this edit features raw footage filmed at an area in Prince George’s County, MD that everyone called “Metro”. It was next to a metro station right off the Capitol Beltway & RT50. Most of this footage was used in our 2002 “Mischief” DVD. Rockstar did use street racing footage they shot at Metro in the "Midnight Club" promo videos.

Some Mischief movie trivia: The producer from Rockstar games and the guys from Stuff magazine were there the night when we hid our cars under cardboard to hide from the police. What you don’t see is what happens after we pull our cars out of the dumpster cage. The police left so we pulled our cars back on to the main strip and waited for the street racers to return. The racers usually returned to Metro 30 mins after the police leave. What we didn’t expect was a cop car to roll up on us while we waited. We all got busted. The cop lectured us and gave us BS tickets for illegal parking. No big deal for us but the guys from Stuff magazine were freaked out haha.
