🌍 Cycling the Börzsöny in Autumn | Horizont Bike Route Sections 13–14 + some extras | Vác – Kemence – Zebegény Loop 🚴‍♂️🇭🇺🍂

Join us on a spectacular autumn cycling adventure through the Börzsöny Mountains, following sections 13 and 14 of the Horizont Bike Route — with a few extra detours to capture the best climbs, valleys, and panoramic roads of Northern Hungary. The golden forests and colorful hills make this one of the most beautiful rides of the season.

Notes:
Started from Vác, because of a recent train accident the trains between Budapest & Nagyoroszi are not operating directly.
Horizont route 13 - 14 is between Nagyoroszi and Nagymaros.
The limestone mine above Vác is private property so i was not able to go in unannounced in the early morning.
The 3km part on road 2 was really not good, based on other sections I thought for such a short amount it is bearable, however it was very busy with high speed traffic, not recommended. Probably best is to take a different route from Vác altogether.
Castle at Nógrád: you are not allowed to go up by bike and I was running short on time, so I didn't hike up.

Závoz-nyereg (Závoz Saddle) – Scenic mountain pass with sweeping views.
Diósjenő & Nógrád – Quiet country roads under the colorful canopy.
Királyrét – Classic Börzsöny cycling spot near the narrow-gauge railway.
Kóspallag – Hidden village between the hills.
Zebegény & Nagymaros – Beautiful Danube Bend views before returning to Vác.
