今回は和歌山県御坊市で毎年10月4日と5日に開催される、通称「喧嘩祭り」こと「御坊祭（ごぼうまつり）」の様子をお届けします。
「人を見たけりゃ御坊祭」
その言葉通り、町が人で埋め尽くされるほどの熱気に包まれるこのお祭り。最大の見どころは、各組の豪華絢爛な屋台（四つ太鼓）や神輿が、境内や町中で激しくぶつかり合う勇壮な姿です。
それは本当の喧嘩ではなく、神様への奉納と、各組の威勢と誇りをかけた神聖な神事。
その圧倒的な迫力、担ぎ手たちの熱気、そして古くから受け継がれてきた伝統が一体となった光景は、一度見たら忘れられません。

This time, we'll be bringing you a look at the Gobo Festival, also known as the "Fight Festival," which is held every year on October 4th and 5th in Gobo City, Wakayama Prefecture.

Like the saying goes, this festival is so exciting that the town is filled with people. The highlight is the heroic sight of each group's gorgeous floats (with four drums) and mikoshi (portable shrines) clashing violently within the temple grounds and through the town.
It's not a real fight, but a sacred ritual that involves offerings to the gods and the power and pride of each group.
The overwhelming power, the passion of the carriers, and the combination of traditions that have been passed down since ancient times is an unforgettable sight once you've seen it.
