At METS this year, Quick showcased the X2/X3 with transparent panels, giving the industry a rare look inside a fully operating gyro. For owners considering a retrofit, the key advantages were clear.
Unlike traditional gyros that spin horizontally, the Quick Gyro uses a vertical spinning mass, allowing a far more compact footprint, no rams, no through-hulls and no water cooling. Two load-sharing bearings and full air-cooling make the unit simpler, lighter and easier to maintain.
Despite measuring just 42 cm square and weighing 133 kg, it produces 3,900 Nm of anti-roll torque – almost double other leading models in its class. With the driver fully integrated, installation becomes straightforward: bolt the unit down, run 12V DC power, and connect the touchscreen.
