【Kito Yuzu】
"Kito Yuzu" is a yuzu characterized by a thick peel, and a beautiful appearance. The characteristics are due to the repeated strain selection of the varieties for over half a century at Naka Town in Tokushima Prefecture. The quality is highly esteemed by markets in both Japan and the EU.
The producing kito area has a cool climate with drastic change in temperature between day and night, and high summer rainfall. It is therefore a suitable area for producing yuzu that has a vivid color, a strong aroma, and is resistant to diseases.
