The animals of the rainforest are under threat. How are they going to survive?
In this video, two SEN practitioners combine their forces to present a story that your children can watch from home.
Alongside the clip, you can use similar props to interact with your children through sounds, eye contact and gestures.
+Use pasta to step on or snap in order to produce the sound of the cracking trees.
+Pour water in a tray with toys to make a splashing sound and flood the toys.
+Shake a pompom or shredded paper to show the movement of the trees.
+Sprinkle slowly rice in a foil tray to hear the sound of the rain.
+Throw leaves above the children's heads to feel as if the trees around you are falling.
+Use a handheld fan to make the sound of the birds flying away to a safer place.
+Reaching up to touch fabrics and drop the fabrics down suddenly to pretend that you are climbing on a tree that is falling.
