Today I am making an incredibly easy and delicious Slow Cooker Carne Guisada recipe. This quick and easy set-it-and-forget-it Mexican-style beef stew is the perfect recipe for the busy week, and your Crockpot does most of the work. Carne guisada is also a South Texas classic comfort food perfect for tacos. The result is a healthy recipe with tender, fall-apart beef in a rich and flavorful gravy that the whole family will love.

Carne Guisada INGREDIENTS
2 1/2 to 3 lbs beef Chuck roast
1/2 medium onion
3 Roma tomatoes
3 cloves of garlic
1 large dried bay leaf
1 1/2 ground cumin
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp Maggi seasoning (optional)
1/2 tsp salt (then salt to taste once cooked)
14.5 oz can beef broth
8 Tbsp all-purpose flour
6-quart Crockpot/slow cooker
Cook on high setting for 4 1/2 to 5 hrs
Mexican Red Rice INGREDIENTS
1 cup (160 g) long-grain rice
small piece of onion
1 to 2 cloves garlic
1/4 tsp to 1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 Tbsp (10 g) chicken bouillon powder
4 to 5 oz (120 to 140 ml) tomato sauce
2 cups (473 ml) water
2-Ingredient Soft Flour Tortillas INGREDIENTS
3 3/4 cups self-rising flour
12 oz can evaporated milk
