Welcome to Lesson 7 of the Unreal Engine 5 Horror Game Tutorial Series!
In this lesson, we’re creating a fully interactive physics-based door — just like the ones in Amnesia: The Dark Descent. You’ll be able to grab, swing, and release doors using your mouse for that heavy, realistic horror feel.
We’ll cover everything step-by-step:
🔹 Creating a physics door blueprint (BP_PhysicsDoor)
🔹 Enabling and tuning physics for realistic weight and damping
🔹 Adding a Physics Constraint for limited door swing
🔹 Building a new Grab Interface (BPI_Grab)
🔹 Setting up left mouse input for grab and release
🔹 Implementing grab and release logic in Blueprint
🔹 Using the Dot Product to invert control when opening from the other side
