1 Timothy 2: 1-4 (KJV); I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

In the Old Testament dispensation, sin was the major concern in the relationship between man and God.

It is why in scriptures such as Isaiah 1:18, the conversation is that though the man's sins be as scarlet, they will be as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

The New Testament changed the conversation. In John 1:29, John the Baptist says of Christ, "Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world."

So then, you must ask yourself, did Christ accomplish the task that John the Baptist speaks of? Did He indeed take away the sin of the world?

The answer to us who believe is that YES, indeed He took away the sin of the world.

That is why in the New Testament, the most important thing between God and man is the assignment of preaching the gospel to the ends of the earth. Sin becomes a lighter issue because we are empowered to defeat and stand against it through His blood and the relentless work of grace.

As our theme scripture says, it is His will that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. This is heaven’s agenda!

With this consciousness, we do not make sin the centre of our communion. Our spirits are tuned to hearing greater instructions: His plans for our nations; His next move in our continents; His purpose for our political, economic and social environments. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: My Lord, I thank You for this knowledge. I know that You became sin that I may become the righteousness of God. I do not live my life under sin consciousness but by purpose consciousness because I understand what You have done in me. I know Your desires and my heart beats after Your plans, in Jesus' name, Amen.
