카카오 AI 캠퍼스는 자연과 도시, 사람과 공간의 조화로운 융합을 추구하는 혁신적인 건축 프로젝트이다. 경사지 지형을 활용해 3단계 지하층으로 구성된 멀티 그라운드를 조성하고, 그 위에 숙박동, 지원시설, 연수시설 등을 배치하여 공간 경험을 극대화하였다.

건물 외부에는 선큰 광장, 조경 공간, 옥상 조경 등 다양한 영감의 장소를 마련했으며, 계단식 구조와 건축적 장치를 통해 자연과의 경계를 허물고 시각적 확장을 연출하였다. 독립적인 가든은 안식처이자 모임의 장소로 기능하며, 공간 사이의 '틈'과 내외부를 연결하는 '프레임'을 통해 사계절 자연을 담아내는 갤러리로 변모하도록 계획하였다. 건물의 외관은 주변 자연환경을 고려하여 흑으로 빚은 벽돌과 자연을 담아낼 수 있는 유리로 주변과의 조화를 이끌어 냈으며,
초대형 유리와 저철분 투명 유리를 사용하여 내부까지 외부의 녹지를 끌어들이며 개방감을 부여하였다.

카카오 AI 캠퍼스는 이처럼 자연과 공간, 사람과 경험이 어우러지는 감성적 공간을 제공하여, 혁신적이고 지속 가능한 건축의 새로운 패러다임을 제시하고자 한다.

The Kakao AI Campus represents a groundbreaking architectural initiative designed to seamlessly integrate nature with urban life and connect people with their surroundings. Leveraging the sloped topography, the project features three levels of underground multi-ground spaces. Above ground, it accommodates lodging, support facilities, and training centers, all orchestrated to elevate the overall spatial experience.

The campus exterior includes sunken plazas, landscaped areas, and rooftop gardens, creating diverse and inspiring spaces. Through its terraced design and innovative architectural elements, the campus seamlessly merges with nature, expanding the visual and spatial boundaries.
An independent garden serves both as a retreat and a social venue, designed to transform into a gallery showcasing the changing seasons through intentional ‘gaps’ and ‘frames’ that connect the indoor and outdoor environments. The facade harmonizes with the surrounding natural environment using blackened brick and glass. Large glass panels and low-iron transparent glass enhance the building’s openness by inviting external greenery into the interior, thus fostering a seamless integration with the natural surroundings.
