Croatia’s rich culture and stunning Mediterranean landscapes have long made it a favorite European destination. In this first of two episodes, Hans Jöchler and his team explore historic towns, dramatic coastlines, and many of the country’s 1,200 islands.
The journey includes Rovinj with its Venetian heritage, the ancient city of Pula, and islands such as Cres and Pag. The team visits Paklenica, Europe’s oldest national park, known for its deep gorges and black pine forests, and explores Zadar before heading to the Kornati archipelago.
On Dugi Otok, underwater footage reveals colorful corals and molluscs along steep drop-offs. The episode concludes in Riva, showcasing Croatia as far more than a mass-tourism destination — a country rich in history, art, and tradition.
