It doesn't really snow here in Portland, OR. But you can bet at least once a year we actually get snowfall here in town, and in the surrounding areas. Last year in 2024, we had our annual snowstorm in January. And when this happens, everything shuts down in the city. People stay home where it's safe as the roads are icy, and folk here aren't used to driving in those conditions.
So we set out to capitalize on the winter conditions and head to the Columbia River Gorge to see a waterfall I have never actually been to. And I must say, this is by far the prettiest waterfall I've seen here in Oregon.
That may be a biased claim as we did get to witness her covered in snow and frozen. But it's all the more the truth.
