Protecting the Beast by Bertin Doko, Christine Yaoua Kouman, and Masela Nkolo follows Christine Kouman, an Endangered Species Conservation Specialist, as she works to protect an endangered species of crocodile, Mecistops cataphractus, commonly known as the West African False Gharial.
Despite the stereotype in her community, Christine does not give up, as she encourages more people to get involved in the preservation of this species, species for the future generations to enjoy its beauty.
This film emerged from a three-day storytelling workshop held by @arete.arts.foundationand @afrisos in Lomé, Togo, for talented filmmakers and conservationists.
