Mega Man 9 Full Game Run Pt. 1

And now we begin the ninth game of the series, Mega Man 9. After Mega Man 8, the series took a hiatus of sorts with other franchises either coming about or getting sequels such as the X series, Battle Network, Mega Man Zero and even Mega Man ZX. 2008 is where Capcom announced that Mega Man would return back to its roots with a new Mega Man game.

The plot takes place years after not only Mega Man 8 but also the spin-off game Mega Man & Bass. Peace has come to the world until robots decide to go berserk. Everyone wonder who’s behind it only to find out that Dr. Light’s own robots are causing it with evidence showing Light trying his luck on the whole world domination schtick. Wily says he has no involvement but is willing to help stop him. This gets Mega Man fired up and decides to find out what’s going on and who’s responsible.

Mega Man 9 returns back to basics here. It’s 8-bit and Mega Man plays exactly as he is in Mega Man 2. He has no slide or charge shot. Would it matter? Not really because the game is very good. Like every other Mega Man game, you choose a robot master, reach the end of their stage, take them down, get their weapon and repeat. It’s here where you face 8 Robot Masters: Galaxy Man, Jewel Man, Plug Man, Tornado Man, Magma Man, Hornet Man, Splash Woman (the first female robot master in the series) and Concrete Man. The game does bring Screws back from Mega Man 7 and 8 and you can use them to buy extra lives, energy tanks, items, etc.

One thing I will say here… the Jewel Satellite is one of the best shield weapons in the entire game. So much so that you can use it to pretty much farm for extra lives, screws, etc. in Plug Man’s stage. I’m not kidding.

Here we take on all 8 Robot Masters so for anyone that likes long videos like this, here you go. Part 2 is where we tackle Wily’s Fortress and it’s here I realize that I’m going to need to prepare if I am to survive. Just saying.
