This meeting brought together members of the Nunalleq Project to share their experience of co-developing a successful archaeological project with members of the Yup’ik community of Quinhagak, Alaska. The meeting introduced project members’ insights concerning community collaboration in developing and implementing research that is guided by and serves community interests. A key area of focus is collaborative responses to threats to heritage sites posed by climate change.
During this meeting, we heard from Lynn Marie Church, CEO Nalaquq, Quinhagak; Rick Knecht, Senior Lecturer in Archaeology, University of Aberdeen; as well as Charlotta Hillerdal, Reader in Archaeology, University of Aberdeen.
