Quite a chaotic plum pudding race day this year at Mallory Park, but still much more successful than last years!
We had a huge delay in the morning due to a very icy hairpin, but finally we managed to get the practice for the cars going but unfortunately it was mostly under safety car; the bikes didn't get going until much later in the day due to it being too unsafe. Once we finally got the racing going, we had possibly the worst and most confusing race start I have ever witnessed; I must say I'm glad I wasn't a driver in that scenario because half the grid thought it was the race start, and the other half the green flag lap. With take two, it seemed like a very congested start and 5 cars ended up crashing out before the first corner, thankfully all were okay but that was yet another huge delay! The rest of the day ran pretty smoothly with the odd smaller delay here and there but in the end we got out over an hour later than was scheduled, just glad we had that leeway in the timetable.
I do enjoy these boxing day races because its cool to see cars race together that you usually wouldn't see; for example I never expected a classic Mini to get into an accident with a 3 rotor Mazda RX8...
