50 Years Ago Today, the SEX PISTOLS Were Born!

It's hard to believe, but 50 years ago from today - August 22, 1975 - The Sex Pistols were born. This is the day that John Lydon went to meet Steve, Paul and Glen at a pub on Kings Road (instigated by Malcolm McLaren) and later auditioned at the SEX boutique for the band. The 3 band members were not impressed, but Malcolm knew on this day that he had, at last, found the singer he was looking for.

In this video I go into detail on what happened that day and also give a brief history on the other singers that Malcolm tried out before he met Lydon. Lydon happened to be looking for shoes on this day and stumbled upon Malcolm in his shop. It's a fascinating story of how one of the greatest bands of all time came about by accident. Enjoy!
