MKBCC9 - Wayne Rooney - Vindicated

The 2009/2010 campaign saw Wayne Rooney in the form of his life before an injury towards the end of the season played a big part in Manchester United not winning any more silverware. After a very disappointing World Cup with England, off-field problems and poor form, things went from bad to worse when the shocking news that Rooney wanted to leave Manchester United broke. After six successful years at the club he was questioning the lack of ambition and many feared bitter rivals Manchester City would be his new employers. In the end Rooney made a dramatic u-turn and decided to stay at United by signing a new contract. But with the fans already having turned on him it was always going to take a very huge effort from Rooney to redeem himself.
