Gogmazios Vs. Hammer - Monster Hunter Wilds - ゴグマジオス ハンマー 「ソロ」【MHWilds】

Mixed feelings on this fight, first phase is extremely faithful to Gogmazios' fight in 4U. The second phase is okay, I actually find it decently enjoyable even though I don't... "understand" why this phase exists. I don't get why Gog decides to just lay there on the edge of this platform and we have to fight him there.

But the last phase is what I really despise. I get it, the plan was to go "haha look Gogmazios he such a scary boy!!!" when he flies, but was it really necessary for it to be so bad? I don't have anything to say about the spectacle of this fight, it's really well done actually ; but spectacle at the cost of interacting with the monster is a real shame.

Shooting Gogmazios in the air is not particularly fun, especially because you have to watch what he's doing by looking upward, while simultaneously look out for the thirty AoEs on the floor AND the ammo you need to gather. It's just not very well done in that regard.

Now Gogmazios still fights a lot on the ground in this phase, but it's just the phase 1 all over again with slightly more aggressive patterns. It's a shame but Gogmazios actually does not have a single new grounded move to its arsenal in this game, it's only everything he had back in 4U.

Gog isn't particularly hard for this reason, I feel. A good chunk of the fight for people who know him already, is just more of the same. Of course newcomers will have a different experience, but I still don't find him that challenging. It's not an issue either ; Amatsu is freaking AMAZING in Sunbreak and yet it's not the hardest fight in the game. But Amatsu, while it has 3 scripted attack sequences, is still EXTREMELY interactive for 90% of the fight.
These spectacle fights are good but I just wish Gog was done better for the last phase.

Lastly, it's terrible how this fight is 100% scaled for a party of 8. True solo is also impossible. Without SOS support hunters you still have a group with you.

If you want to see what a truly mind blowing, solo only win feels like against Gogmazios, in an absolutely terrible weapon matchup on top, I really recommend you watch my 4U run.

I hope you'll find the quality of this run acceptable. With no REFramework, mods, etc and still using a 5 months old driver because Nvidia STILL hasn't fixed the recording issue with Wilds, I feel like it's pretty average. Thanks for watching.
