Hey everyone, it’s Margot.
We just stepped out of the studio at LuckyChap after a marathon session with the brilliant Anthony Willis, Emerald Fennell, and my right hand, Sophia Kerr. We wanted to drop something that captures exactly how we’re feeling as we head into the release of our Wuthering Heights (2026).
To the Emily Brontë purists, the skeptics, and the people in the comments calling me "Mid" or "Box Office Poison"—this is for you. We see the noise. We hear the "iPhone face" critiques. But Catherine Earnshaw wasn't a girl who played by the rules, and neither do we. This is a powerful, defying statement of intent. We aren't just adapting a book; we’re channeling its raw, feral soul.
📽️ The Mix: "BAD" (2026 Cinematic Orchestral Version)
We’ve taken the original 1987 recording of Michael Jackson’s "Bad" and mashed it with a haunting, massive orchestral score mashed up and mixed in by Anthony Willis (Promising Young Woman, Saltburn) from the Munich Symphonic Sound Orchestra.
Even though this isn't in the official movie score, it lives in the spirit of our film. It’s loud, it’s shocking, and it’s meant to break your expectations. We wanted a sound that feels as dangerous as the moors—a mix that empowers the feminine rage of Cathy and the brooding defiance of Heathcliff.
🎙️ Why Michael? Why "Bad"?
I’ve always been a student of pop culture history. "Bad" wasn't just a song; it was a revolution.
The History: Released in 1987, produced by the legendary Quincy Jones, it was Michael’s defiant response to the pressure of following up Thriller.
The Significance: Michael wrote it after reading a true story about a student trying to better himself and facing jealousy from his community. That feeling of being an outsider—of being "bad" because you refuse to fit in—is exactly what Emily Brontë was writing about in 1847.
The Visuals: Our video is a montage tribute to the original Martin Scorsese-directed music video and MJ’s legendary dancing. It’s our way of saying thank you to the King of Pop.
📺 A Tribute to MTV (1981–2025)
With the heartbreaking news of MTV shutting down its music channels on December 31, 2025, we felt a responsibility to keep the "music video" medium alive. Seeing "Video Killed the Radio Star" play for the final time was the end of an era. This is our way of keeping that torch burning on my Margot Robbie Barbie channel.
🎥 Wuthering Heights (2026) & "Michael" (2026)
We are so hyped for our movie to hit theaters on February 14, 2026. I know there’s been talk about the casting of myself and Jacob Elordi, but I’m asking you to have an open mind. If you love the energy of this mix, you’ll understand the energy of our Cathy and Heathcliff.
And to the MJ fans: we are right there with you! We’re using this drop to hype up the upcoming "Michael" Biopic (April 2026) starring Jaafar Jackson. It’s going to be a massive year for cinema and music.
Produced by: LuckyChap Entertainment (Margot Robbie, Sophia Kerr, Josey McNamara) Orchestral Arrangement: Anthony Willis Creative Direction: Emerald Fennell Special Thanks: Warner Bros. Pictures
"I’m telling you that I’m bad... the whole world has to answer right now."
