With a production total of 1.9 million units in just eight years, it's fair to say that the Mercedes-Benz "Strich Acht" or stroke 8 was a success. Here we road test a W115 220 petrol, but engines ranged through four (petrol or diesel), five (diesel) and six cylinders (petrol) with these beautiful cars appealing as much to taxi drivers as executives.
