Punjabi House is part of the series of comedy classic films directed by Rafi Mecartin, Starring : Dileep , Harisree Ashokan , Mohini , Jomol , Lal , Cochin Haneefa , Thilakan , Janardhanan , N. F. Varghese.

This Rafi Mecartin film is a complete entertainment package. Unni (Dileep) is a jobless youth who has taken loan money from almost everyone and is unable to pay it back. Facing harassment, he decides to commit suicide so that his parents can use up the insurance money to pay debts. Unfortunately, he is saved by fishermen Gangadharan and Ramanan. Unni pretends to be deaf and mute in order to hide the truth.

Ironically, Gangadharan is himself indebted to a Punjabi family settled in Kerala. He asks Unni and Ramanan to work at the Punjabi home until the debt is paid. There, Unni falls head over heels in love with Mohini. Chaos prevails when Unni's family finds out that he is not dead and comes to meet him with his old girlfriend Sujatha (Jomol). Will Unni marry Mohini is the remaining drama of the movie.
