Ford GTD (Grand Touring Daytona) vs Shelby Cobra (Time Attack)

Ford’s most hardcore road-legal Mustang ever, the ‘GTD’, has just posted a Nürburgring lap time of 6m 57.6s at an average pace of 177 kph (110.6mph). That makes it the fastest American production car ever around the Green Hell, and only the sixth 'standard' production car to go around in sub-seven minutes.

The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD, driven by Dirk Müller, lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:57.685.

This GTD is a super charged 5.2 liter 815hp V8 monster. Final pricing hasn't been announced, but Ford said to expect a starting price of about $325,000 for the standard Mustang GTD.

My Shelby Cobra in this video is running a supercharged 5.0L 832hp Coyote engine.
I sure hope we see the GTD in Gran Turismo someday.
