#UPSCnotification2025 #upsctelugu #upscformfilling2025
Hello everyone, I am Balu Praveen Kumar. Welcome to Neupolity.
The UPSC has released the notification for the 2025 Civil Services Exam. There are some strict points, and some are made easier. There are a lot of updates – how many posts are there, how to apply for the exam, how to choose your exam center, who is eligible, whether final year degree students can apply, and more. We will discuss all these important updates in a clear and simple manner. Since filling the application form is very important, even a small mistake can lead to wasting an entire year. So, watch the entire video carefully and apply cautiously once you understand everything. Ready to start?
First, let’s talk about when the exam will take place. The Preliminary Exam is scheduled for May 25th, 2025. There will be two papers on the same day – the General Studies paper in the morning and the CSAT paper in the afternoon.
Next, let’s discuss the number of services. This year, there are 23 services included in the Civil Services Exam. These include IAS, IFS, IPS, IRS, and more. Based on your rank and category in the final result, you will be allotted a service.
Now, about the number of posts – this year there are 979 posts available. This includes both general and reserved category posts. If you compare this with last year, the number is a bit lower, as last year 1056 posts were released. But don’t worry – there’s one post for you, so no issues.
Let’s look at exam centers now. Be very careful while filling in the application form. If you mistakenly select the wrong exam center, it could cause problems later. There are 80 exam centers across India for the Preliminary Exam. In Telugu states, there are 6 centers – 4 in Andhra Pradesh and 2 in Telangana. The Andhra Pradesh centers are Ananthapur, Tirupati, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam, while in Telangana, Hyderabad and Warangal are the centers. These are for the Prelims only. For the Mains Exam, there are 24 centers nationwide, and in Telugu states, there are just 2 centers – Hyderabad in Telangana and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.
Be cautious when selecting your centers for both Prelims and Mains. Apply early because if you delay, there’s a chance you’ll be allotted a different center from the one you select.
The exam process is as follows – first, the Prelims, then the Mains, and after that, the Interview. Simple.
Let’s move on to eligibility conditions:
1. Nationality: For IAS, IFS, and IPS services, only Indian citizens are eligible. Citizens of Nepal, Bhutan, and some others can apply for other services.
2. Age: For general candidates, the age should be between 21 and 32 years. This means candidates born between August 2, 1993, and August 1, 2004, are eligible. There are relaxations for other categories like SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), and PWD (10 years).
Now, about education – candidates must have a minimum degree. If you are a final-year degree student, you can still apply, but your degree must be completed by the time of the Interview.
The number of attempts is as follows:
General candidates: 6 attempts
SC/ST candidates: Unlimited attempts
OBC candidates: 9 attempts (only for non-creamy layer)
Remember, the attempt count only applies when you appear for the exam, not when you apply. So even if you apply, you can skip the exam and it won’t count as an attempt.
Application fees depend on the category. Female candidates, SC/ST, and PWD candidates can apply for free, while other candidates will have to pay ₹100 for the Prelims and ₹200 for the Mains if they qualify.
Important: You’ll need to upload a recent photo, signature, and an ID card. There are specific rules for the photo – it should be recent (taken after January 12th, 2025), with your name and date written on it.
The last date for application is February 11th, 2025, by 6 PM. Avoid applying last minute.
That’s all for now. If you found this helpful, like and share the video. Subscribe to stay updated. We’ll meet in the next video. Signing off, Balu Praveen Kumar.
