The Sonus Foundation for the Support of New Music and Contemporary Performing Arts announced in November 2022 the second issue of its program 'Let a Master Pitch In - International composition masterclass' for young composers who would like to develop new work with intensive mentoring of internationally known and critically acclaimed composition professors. Four young composers worked with Professor Milica Djordjević in the second issue of the program in a brand-new format. At the end of the program, they recorded a video to present their work.
Myrto Nizami is interested in presenting a sound universe through a kaleidoscope of diversity and coexistence while focusing to the connection of opposites. The work "Vis-à-vis" is a piece collection of a number of very short duration pieces (from 15-50 seconds duration each). The title derives from the Latin expression ‘vis-à-vis’ which is used in the context of a relationship or comparison between two things or quantities. Myrto Nizami is a composer and pianist from Greece. She holds a Bachelor's in Composition from the Department of Music Science and Art (UOM, Greece) and a Master's in Composition from the Royal Conservatory of the Hague with further studies on Advanced Theory and electroacoustic music. Myrto is often inspired by poetry and painting, philosophy and the politics. In her music she explores the fluid and airy plasticity of sound while she seeks for the music interplay between technology and physical sound material.
