Chinatown is known for being the go to spot for East and Southeast Asian cuisine. But thanks to viral food trends on TikTok, Chinatown is now overrun with 20+ bubble tea stores and other picturesque food spots. Today we want to ask: Why does one place need so many bubble tea stores and bakeries, and as a result, who loses out? What establishments have to close down to make way for this new trend?

He started making short form content on Snapchat and was nominated for a Shorty Award in 2018, before moving the focus of his stories into video journalism, guiding audiences through stories from across the world. His series ‘Origins’ with Red Bull explored the history of extreme sports, the communities behind them and how they have gone on to affect the cultures of today. Faultline is a channel that combines of on-the-ground reporting, research, and filmmaking to tell the stories of how humanity is understood through geography.
