A special court in Adiala Jail on Saturday sentenced Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi to a combined 17-year prison term in the Toshakhana 2 case.

Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand presided over the hearing in Adiala Jail.

Bushra Bibi’s sentence: 10 years under Section 409 and an additional 7 years under Sections 5, 2, and 47.

Imran Khan’s sentence: 10 years under Section 409 and 7 years under Sections 5, 2, and 47.

Fines: Both were ordered to pay Rs16.4 million each.

The total combined prison sentence for both stands at 17 years each.

This marks the fifth case in which PTI leaders Dr Yasmin, Cheema, Mian Mehmoodur, and Chaudhry were convicted, while former foreign minister Qureshi was acquitted.

Earlier verdicts were delivered in cases related to an attack on the Shadman police station, violence at Sherpao Bridge, the burning of police vehicles near Rahat Bakery, and the torching of a Supreme Court judge’s squad vehicle near Jinnah House during the May 9 protests.

ATC hands 10-year imprisonment to Yasmin Rashid, other PTI leaders in May 9 case. Shah Mehmood Qureshi acquitted in case related to attack on GOR-1 gate at Lahore's Club Chowk. Eight PTI leaders receive decade-long imprisonment. Thirteen accused, including Shah Mahmood, acquitted. Verdict announced inside Kot Lakhpat Jail.
