Hello Fam!
So glad to have you back! In this tutorial I am showing you how to drape on a dress form. This skill is essential for creating fitted bodice and sewing clothing. This project is kind of intimidating to get started so lets break it all the way down to the basics!
Some pro tips to ensure you are successful:
Make sure your dress form fits you smallest measurement!~ you can always add padding to make areas of the form bigger, but you cannot make any areas smaller than the dress forms smallest size. An half an inch off in any measurements can mess with your entire project so make sure your dress form fits your measurements!
After you baste your first darts in place, try it on yourself to make sure it fits~ DO NOT assume that because it fit your dress form before you sewed it, it will fit you. Trying it on yourself before you cut anything can save you a lot of fabric and heartache
If you get confused about how where to put seams or darts look in your own closet or online for something similar and look to see how they put everything together and copy their work!
