Are all Terrain tires really that much louder? In this video I use a decibel meter to discover just how much louder an all terrain tire is compared to a highway tire.
I changes to a slightly larger BFG KO2 from a Bridgestone highway tire.
I was not able to tell a huge difference my self at highway speeds. At lower speeds of 40 MPH I could tell there was a deeper tone, the lack of highway difference could be due to the higher wind noise of my older LX470.
I want to make clear these tires are not a big difference at all, and the noise is totally bearable, they sound just fine, and I don't regret going from highway to all terrain.
