Janina Myronova’s artistic practice centers on figurative sculpture, blending narrative expression with painterly qualities. She pays particular attention to underglaze painting on sculptural surfaces, using bold, humorous imagery to convey emotion and tell stories. To her, ceramics is not just a material but a medium that carries memory, culture, and social dialogue.

“I am very happy to be here in Foshan, a place of such importance to ceramics, and truly delighted to spend time creating alongside artists from different countries.The work I created this time incorporates elements of Chinese culture and uses the locally sourced Foshan/ Shiwan clay rich in chamotte to make large-scale sculptures. I also ran some glaze tests，before coming here, I had never heard of applying glaze before bisque firing, but the local glazes can be used directly on greenware. This was completely new knowledge for me. To the artists who will join DOUBLE 24 in the future—you are very lucky.
