Land can be simulaneously for both solar power generation and agricultural uses, commonly referred to as Agrivoltaics. Ian Skor, Co-founder of Sandbox Solar discusses their work with Colorado State University on a USDA grant studying Agrivoltaics. The research focuses on growing specialty crops underneath various types of semi-transparent solar panels. Sandbox scaled up a pilot project from last year on a larger research plot at CSU.

Ian Skor received his bachelors of environmental resources engineering from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and has worked on LEED projects creating energy efficient and energy producing commercial buildings.
