Our story begins not too long before Christmas when the remote to my converter box that I use to record these tragically broke. I didn't want to go to Wal-Mart to fish for some more universal remotes, and I couldn't program the one I already had so I just gave in and went to Wal-Mart's website and ordered a new one, they sell the remote by itself for the converter box in question, and it came in on December 30th, along with another package I got from eBay. I was at work when they came in and was surprised when I saw no one had grabbed them and walked away, though it was raining and cold, so I understand why no one was walking up and down the neighborhood. The other package I got was one of those disk holders that could hold up to 400 disks (CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays, and 4K Blu-Rays), and so I spent the morning of the 31st packing that thing to the rim with all my disks, putting the cases in my attic. The thing is now full, and I still have some disks that couldn't fit in the thing, that's how many I have. The new remote for the converter box had batteries included and pre-installed and I put it to good use recording this ball drop for you guys. I spent the hours leading to it cleaning out the petroleum jelly out of my black V-Cube 7 so that I could replace it with Jig-A-Loo branded silicone lubricant, and eventually with Lubicle Silk later down the line. I know, I know, "2160pbr50h, it's 2021 and you still have a V7 ahahahahahahahatdt j dl uukd gABVSHJAWBFUKGRJ KJLCG JKG F" Look, even though it's well outdated, I'm not a speedcuber, and so it honestly doesn't matter that I have it. Sure, I have some 7x7x7 speed cubes, but I own two V7s, one white and one black, for nostalgic purposes. So if you want to judge me on that, there's nothing I can do to stop you, but please go eat a VCR. Also, pretty much every single celebrity who performed on the thing sucked beyond all belief, so I just watched Queen's concert at Milton Keynes in 1982 on DVD instead to pass the time, again all while still cleaning my V7. And yes, because this is in 2160p60, it took forever to upload, but I took my time with this so that you guys get this in the highest quality. To put it simply, porch pirates were forgiving to me, I own a lot of physical media, speedcubers can go eat a car brake, and the official sources on YouTube have been lying to you all these years, the ball drop was in fact filmed in 60 frames, and only us basement dwellers will be nice enough to let you guys know that. On to the video, At a certain point, the audio kind of gets offset from the video so I apologize for that, but they were doing their usual nonsense of being six feet apart and wearing face masks that don't work as if corona will see that and pass over them like the Angel of Death passing over houses with lamb's blood painted on the door frames and killing the firstborn children in the houses where there's no blood. But I'm here to say that, unless you're wearing something that actually seals around your face, just forget it. Corona particles will either go around or pass through most of the face masks you see everyone wearing. There should be no in between, either you wear a gas mask, or you wear nothing at all. I do admire Ryan Seacrest's positivity and enthusiasm, where he says that good things will start today or whatever, but unfortunately, I don't think there will be an end to our extensive list of issues, at least not any time soon. Of course, I could be wrong, but I doubt it. Believe me, I want 2021 to be good just like you guys do, but realistically, it probably won't. If anything, it'll more than likely be far worse. I hate to be that guy, but everyone is hyping up 2021, saying that corona will immediately go away once the clock reaches midnight, but such anticipation will only lead to excessive disappointment if the new year doesn't live up to the hype. But hey, at least the earth didn't explode in 2020, so that's something. One final thing, I was surprised to see my computer wasn't senile enough to corrupt this recording immediately after I plugged in the USB with the footage. I've been burned by that once before with the 2017/2018 ball drop which is why I never uploaded that one. I plugged in the USB and the computer basically told me to go eat a diesel engine. What a humorous prank, am I right? I was so pissed off beyond all belief and I pretty much stopped trusting that particular computer with this kind of work completely after that. That wasn't even the first time it burned me, I captured Olaf's Frozen Adventure a few weeks prior for something I wanted to do and it did the exact same thing. Thankfully my current computer was more forgiving to me, and now you guys can enjoy this in such a high quality, that the official sources could never imagine it to be possible.
