BUTCHER SHOP MIATA Rebuild. WHY do I keep doing this to myself?!

A different kind of video? well kinda. I bought this 2001 Mazda Miata SE from a local guy with the hopes of putting it back on the road after a relatively minor accident. Sometimes the repairs a car needs take less time in my brain than they take in real life. SOMETIMES, you find out a car has been worked on by a BLIND WOMBAT with anger issues and you spend more time fixing their mistakes than you do fixing the initial problem. That second part is what happened here. Special shoutout to my much better half ‪@TheCarWifeLife‬ for the help bleeding the clutch!
I'm no stranger to Miata's. My dad is a retired Mazda master tech, and I've been around these cars since their inception. I've owned 30-40 not including the cars I've parted out. To say I have a soft spot for them would be accurate, especially for rarer trim levels like the SE's.
My normal prerequisites for repairing one of these cars are NO rust, NO structural damage, manual transmission or worth the swap, and relatively low miles. This car checked every box, and created a new one appropriately called "No butcher shop cars".
The unfortunate part of this car is that while it had a ton of service work done, most of it was unnecessary and most of it was done incorrectly. The level of quality on the repairs this car received were subpar and the level of cost associated with the repairs would make you expect otherwise.
I think I've got most of this car sorted and I'll be finishing the last few bits to put this thing up for sale now that I believe it'll be a good car for someone. If you're interested my email is [email protected].
