Weaving a Legacy: The Revival of Song Kesi

“The length of a person’s life doesn’t matter. What matters is creating something timeless in your lifetime!”

This is the story of "kesi" (silk tapestry), one of China’s most exquisite and complex textile traditions — revived by master Wang Yuxiang (王玉祥), who has dedicated his life to it.

Born into a textile family, he grew up sketching in textbooks while listening to the clattering of the looms. Decades later, he is now a pioneer leading the charge in reviving a lost Song Dynasty craft ("ben kesi") and truly weaving his own story of devotion, resilience, and purpose.
