The 1980s was a time of automotive excess, where teenagers were busy turning their VW Polos and Golfs into Italian sports car lookalikes, and in this era one Swiss car designer dared to take a different route. Franco Sbarro, a maestro of automotive nonconformity, turned heads with the Sbarro Super Eight, a hot hatch that not only took design inspiration from Ferrari , but that was, in essence, a Ferrari 308 GTB in disguise.
