Zephyrus

Arion, a Greek poet and master of the lyre, boarded the ship "Zephyrus" for his journey to Sicily to take part in the annual music contest. After winning the golden crown and on his way home, the sailors on the ship conspired to steal it and end his young life. This danger was revealed to Arion in a dream, along with how to thwart the thieves' plan. The next day when the sailors attacked him, he begged them as a last request to let him play and sing once more before he dies. The sailors conceded, but at the end of the song Arion flung himself into the sea while clutching his lyre and crown where dolphins who had been drawn to the ship by his enchanting music rescued him from certain death. Suddenly, a strong wind filled the ship's sails, whisking it and its murderous crew away until they disappeared over the horizon. The dolphins carried Arion, proudly wearing his crown, safely on their backs to dry land.
Oceanova
Arion awoke on the beach of an uninhabited island. Dazed, he sat upright and looked down to find a single gold leaf from his crown lying in the sand, the only remnant left of the prize he earned in Sicily. His lyre was gone, too. Frustrated, he flung the leaf into the sea. To his amazement it turned into a small boat with a tiny sail when it hit the water. Leaping into the waves, Arion swam as hard as he could to the vessel, fearing it might disappear. Climbing aboard, he immediately set a course for home. Hours passed. He sat silent, gazing into the heavens above. Suddenly a section of the night sky began to move. Arion watched, fascinated, as an ethereal ball of light descended upon the water. It then expanded into a huge nova that lit up the ocean. Slowly the light moved towards the boat and enveloped it.
Sterope
Awestruck, Arion stared at an angel of light who’d appeared from within the nova. She first circled his boat, then hovered directly in front of him. She said, "My name is Sterope, and I greet you with love." Arion tried to speak but she put her fingers to his lips and whispered, "I know you have questions and in time I shall quench your thirst for answers. Our reunion is yet to be, but it will occur.”
Celestial Visions
"I am but one of the 7 sisters of the Pleiades" Sterope spoke as she floated above the glistening sea. With a wave of her hand, she pointed to the sky where 7 stars began to pulsate. "That is where we dwell, but we visit your beautiful little planet from time to time to take evolved souls back to our dimension of light. Your music touches the outer edges of our region, and we listen.
The Gift
" Arion wondered how his simple melodies ever reached such exalted ears. "Ah, but you are the exalted one within the music" she explained before the question could leave his lips, “I left an instrument, your precious lyre, upon your shore long ago, hoping an artist like yourself would take full advantage of the gift. And so you have. May every breath you take be a song to our Creator and all his glory.”
Echoes of a gentle rain
Sterope then began to spin atop the ocean’s surface in the moonlight, changing into different shapes and faces like a chameleon. "I can transform myself into any image or disguise necessary to aid human understanding" she said as she glided nearer to Arion and looked deeply into his eyes, "I am the essence of every ideal, real or imagined, even in the echoes of a gentle rain.
Infinite Dream
Sterope explained, "I first visited you when you were a child and I told you of my return. I also spoke to you of our existence in this infinite dream and gave you the ancient tunings for the lyre I left you". Arion responded, "Oh yes, I remember finding the instrument on the shore and somehow I just knew how to tune and play it."
In league with Angels
"However, I could never see your face in the dreams" Arion said reverently. "Perhaps you're still dreaming and just now seeing me," Sterope replied. Arion heard the sound of several dolphins giggling as if in league with the Angel.
The Return
Sterope said, "I must now return to the Pleiades and my sisters, but I will return when you transcend this life to accompany you as you ascend to us in light". The dolphins began churning the waters and they circled Sterope still glowing above the dark sea. She leaned over and gently kissed Arion's forehead, whispering to him, "farewell." The comforting light began to intensify as the dolphins rose one by one into the night sky following Sterope.
First Light
As first light touched the morning sky, Arion picked up the golden lyre she’d tenderly placed in his lap and began to play as if his heart was the fire where the gods warmed their hands.
