Big Boy 4014 Departure From Van Buren Arkansas, With Emergency Stop! (Includes Drone Footage)

RARE Footage of Big Boy 4014 having to stop because of too many people on the track or too close to the train during departure. Hear the Engineer shouting on the PA System!!

Union Pacific's Big Boy 4014 Steam Locomotive was one of 8 that still exists from the 25 that were manufactured for Union Pacific in 1941. Big Boy 4014 was on display at the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona for more than 52 years when it was moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 2013 to begin a multi-year restoration. In a ceremony on May 4th, 2019, Big Boy 4014 began a tour of the mid-west to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Golden Spike driven to complete the transcontinental railroad on May 10th, 1869 at Promontory Point in Utah.

Big Boy 4014 arrived in Van Buren, Arkansas on November 15th, 2019 to a crowed of more than 5,000. The next morning on November 16th, on a crispy cold Saturday, Big Boy 4014 departed Van Buren Arkansas. Because of the cold, there was so much steam that the engineer could not see very well and had to rely on scouts ahead of the train to warn him. The train stopped due to spectators on the track or who were too close. Once cleared, the train resumed the journey. Awesome Steam footage!!
