Water is Life - But in Gaza, It’s Running Dry | Oxfam Canada

Before the war, Wafa worked as a freelance translator and content writer. Then everything changed. She lost her home, her job, and was forced to flee from Khan Younis to Al-Mawasi in Rafah. Now, she lives in a tent—exposed to the harsh realities of displacement, with extreme weather, insects, and a severe lack of clean water and sanitation.

In the overcrowded displacement camp, access to safe water and bathrooms is critical. Oxfam, in partnership with the Palestinian Environmental Friends Association, stepped in to provide water tanks and sanitation facilities. But as more people are forced to flee, the crisis deepens.

Wafa’s story is a call for urgent action. She dreams of a permanent ceasefire—the greatest joy of her life.
